Grid-Tie inverters are inverters that connect to the utility grid. They act more as a supplement this way. This is good for just taking down the electric bill, or for selling back extra energy to the company (net metering). Our inverters support "islanding", simply shuts down the system when the power goes out for safety reason. Grid-Connected systems are commonlly used in commercial establishments more than at homes.
Our Grid-Tie String Inverters are not just an inverters that is connected to the utility grid, they are capable of syncing with Battery-Based Inverters to still operate even during the utility power outages. MGTEK can do a grid-tie system to work with a battery-based system that can be charged even during grid outages. It is ideal for clients who want to add a battery back-up package to their existing grid-tie solar power system.
For most of our customers a grid tied solar electricity system is the best solution. A grid-tied system uses the national grid as back up for times when the sun is not shining, like at night. It also enables us to export power back to the grid when we produce more electricity than we use. MERALCO is adopting smart metering system to pay you for this extra electricity and wish other utility company will adopt the same. We use either string inverters or micro-inverters.
