Our WIND ELECTRICITY SYSTEM

As the nation start moving toward an energy system with higher penetrations of wind energy, it is increasingly important to understand how to reliably integrate quantities of wind energy into grid system operations. With this simple and increasingly popular technology, one can generate own power and cut energy bills while helping to protect the environment. Our wind system can be connected to the local utility grid or power provider. Our wind system can be stand alone or Off-Grid also thus makes wind electric system a good choice for rural areas that are not already connected to the electric grid.

Wind RATED CAPACITY vs PERFORMANCE

Rated capacity indicates the electrical power (kW) at a given wind speed, so the answer depends on wind speed and the turbine. A more accurate indicator of energy production, however, is swept area. A 5-kW turbine having 18-foot rotor diameter produces around 8,000 kWh per year at a 20kph average wind speed is enough to power up average mid-class residential house. At a larger spectrum, a 100-kW turbine having 60-foot rotor diameter will generate around 200,000 kWh per year.

Wind BALANCE-OF-SYSTEM COMPONENTS

The balance-of-system parts required will also depend on whether your system is grid-connected, stand-alone, or hybrid. For a residential grid-connected application, the balance-of-system parts may include the following:

  • A controller

  • Storage batteries

  • An inverter (power conditioning unit)

  • Wiring

  • Electrical disconnect switch

  • Grounding system

  • Foundation for the tower

  • Instrumentation

For easy of operation for domestic use we have engineered blade designs that will not allow the turbine to over-speed or be damaged even in typhoon winds. Our wind systems range from 450 watt up to 20 kW making installation and infrastructure costs and maintenance and repair low cost and easy to do. Our tower systems are all hot dipped galvanized which ensure long term life even in harsh conditions.
